A space for optimism” is 2009’s theme of Lismore Lantern Parade in New South Wales Australia on June 20-21. Despite the pessimistic occurrence about economic, social and environmental concerns individual and organizations cope up in various ways to retain a good standing.

The Lizmore Lantern Parade aims to conjure optimism and to be creative. This is an award winning community festival that will feature artistic and brightly made lantern floats, dancing, music, workshops, other events (market delight market stalls, lantern parade, street party) and a fire event finale that will start at 6:45pm at the Jolley Field . On Sunday the event will feature The Big Breakfast at Carrington Street which will start at 8:30am, cooking demonstration,food debate and also other events.
